Beyond Sundays

Church is not just what happens on Sunday Mornings.

Cornerstone Church is committed to gathering for growth, worship, fellowship, and relationship building outside of the traditional Sunday morning context. The primary way this happens at Cornerstone is through community groups.

Since the first century, followers of Jesus Christ have understood that to be a Christian means to be a part of a spiritual community. Followers of Jesus Christ are in a unique partnership with each other, a family relationship with each other, and have responsibilities to each other.

These biblical responsibilities include loving each other, helping each other with financial needs, being impartial toward each other, accepting each other, bearing each other’s burdens, forgiving each other, teaching and correcting each other, encouraging each other, and praying for each other. All of this presupposes that each of us is actually living out our Christian life in intense community with other followers of Jesus Christ.

Because we believe that community is essential to living the Christian life, we strive to facilitate many opportunities to live in community. Each Core member at Cornerstone Church commits to be a part of community so that they can live out their faith as the Bible calls each of us to do.

A community group consists of 8 - 12 people who meet 2 - 3 times a month. These groups are centered around growing in faith through Gospel Transformation, growing in relationships with other Christians through Spiritual Community, and seeking to engage unbelievers with the gospel of Jesus Christ through Missional Living.
